DARYA PERSIAN MUSIC ENSEMBLE
Don’t miss this evening the entire family will enjoy. Join us for a FREE cultural and uplifting evening sponsored by Great Canadian Video Network. Char's Landing will host a charity concert Saturday February 4th at 7 p.m. Families are very welcome. The program will feature tasnifs and instrumental music in the modes of Bayat-e Esfehan and Bayat-e Tork, with poetry by Rumi, Attar and other mystical poets. Come and experience this wonderful evening for the entire family.

WORKING WEST COAST
Only two weeks left to view artist, Doug Harrison and his wonderful collection of watercolour and acrylics depicting local scenes of fishing boats, tug boats and the logging industry by artist. The Rollin Art Centre is located at the corner of 8th and Argyle and open Tuesday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. free admission and wheelchair accessible.

THE ROLLIN ART CENTRE HAS A CALL FOR ARTISTS
The Rollin Art centre is now accepting applications to all visual artists to submit an application to exhibit their work in our Fine Arts Gallery during the 2013 calendar year. Application forms are available at the Rollin Art Centre or you can download an application at www.portalberniarts.com.  Deadline is April 30, 2012. The gallery is located at the corner of 8th and Argyle St., and open from 11 am to 4 pm Tuesday to Saturday. Call 250-724-3412 for more info.

PORTAL PLAYERS MUSICAL "SUDS" AT THE CAPITOL THEATRE
Portal Players Dramatic Society’s 2012 musical production of Suds, the rocking 60’s musical soap opera opens on Friday February 24 and runs until March 17. This is a story about a young ingénue whose job in a 1960 laundry-mat becomes more interesting when she is visited by her guardian angels. The show features classic songs like, Please Mr. Postman, You can’t hurry love, Respect and I know a Place to name a few. All seats are $20 in advance and are available at the Rollin Art Centre, Tuesday – Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm. Located at the corner of 8th and Argyle.

BOOKS WANTED
Mark your calendars for May 12, 2012, as this is The Rollin Art Centres Annual Book Fair. We are now accepting gently used books, DVD’s, CD’s, and puzzles.  Please no National Geographic, Encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest and textbooks. Drop books at the Rollin Art Centre, inside, under the staircase in the wooden box.  This is one of the Community Arts Council’s biggest fundraisers. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Located at 3061-8th Ave. or call 250-724-3412 for more info.

JOIN THE CENTENNIAL, CALLING ALL ARTISANS AND CRAFTERS
Port Alberni is celebrating 100 years of being a City. On Saturday August 4th, artisans and crafters will have the opportunity to display and sell their work at Bob Dailey stadium from 10 am to 8 pm. You will be provided with an 8 ft table and chair. The cost is $10 per artist/crafter. For more info and to book your spot call Gareth 250-724-5918.

COMOX VALLEY ART GALLERY
The Comox Valley Art gallery is inviting proposals and submissions from artists for three exhibit spaces.  Submission to the Contemporary Gallery are juried by a panel of regional arts professionals and takes place in late February early March. GARDEN WEDDINGS

Melissa Martin is the Arts Administrator for the Community Arts Council, the home of the Rollin Art Centre.  The Gallery is located at the corner of 8th and Argyle Street and is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and Wheelchair accessible.
